In this paper we have specified the concept of verb valency that is more syntactically oriented. We have displayed the results of decomposition of Czech verbs into classes with similar valency lists. We also presented an algorithm of automatic determining the TIL logical construction of verb by means of the valency list of the verb.
In our opinion, the constructions obtained by means of verb valencies represent the way how to extract the attributes of the verb meaning from the syntactic structure of the sentence. Thus we can get closer to our ultimate goal: to get, as a result of our analysis, for each input sentence its respective meaning representation which would be as close as possible to the final knowledge representation.
