Bonito is a graphical user interface (GUI) of the Manatee system. First of all, Bonito helps users to create queries and displays its results (concordance lists) from different viewpoints.
One of the basic features of the Manatee system is a client/server architecture. Bonito is a client and runs on many systems with only minimal requirements on computer performance.
Natural Language Processing Laboratory (NLPlab) at the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University, Brno, provides an access to selected corpora for staff and studens of Masaryk University and for cooperating researchers outside of the university. On Unix systems and Macintoshes (but you can use this procedure also on Windows systems) you need to install Tcl/Tk first and then unpack the zip archive bonito-src.zip. Bonito command is bonito.tcl in this case. Tcl/Tk version 8.3 or higher is recommended, installation is available for example on ActiveState pages.
If you would like to use the English user interface of Bonito, run Bonito with -set-lang english options first (for example: bonito.exe -set-lang english). All subsequent runs of Bonito will use English as a default interface language.
