This applet is connected to the server that provides the WordNet data. By clicking on a literal or synset Visual Browser (the client) asks the server for another portion of the data. This can sometimes take a few seconds, depending on your connection speed. The advantage is, that you can browse whole WordNet.
Literals (words) are displayed as words in rectangles, synsets (meanings) are displayed as ellipses (green=substantives, magenta=verbs, blue=adjectives). Visual Browser displays only a certain radius, nodes that are too far from the focused node hide. To prevent this behavior, you can extend the radius (select Radius from the top left selectbox and slide the scrollbar to the right) or you can display any node by clicking the right mouse button and choosing Expand node. If you put the mouse over a synset, it displays the definition of the synset (if available) .
Try to search a literal by typing it in the search window.
